What started as a family tradition quickly ignited a lifelong passion for gemstones, cutting, and jewelry making. Over the decades, he has refined his skills, becoming not only an accomplished jeweler but also a trusted expert in the field.

With a GIA Certificate in Diamond Grading and graduation from the New Approach School of Jewelry, George has a deep, technical understanding of jewelry craftsmanship. But he never stops learning—this year, he’s furthering his expertise at the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts. His skills and experience extend beyond design; his jewelry appraisals have even been accepted as expert witness testimony in court—a testament to his authority in the field.

The Birth of Rare Earth and Precious Metals

For over 40 years, George operated Old World Jewelers, a brick-and-mortar jewelry store now run by his son. After stepping away from day-to-day operations, George launched Rare Earth and Precious Metals, a business name he had in mind for as long as he can remember. The name perfectly encapsulates his vision—Rare Earth represents the rare and beautiful gemstones he meticulously selects, while Precious Metals signifies the finest quality Sterling Silver and Gold he uses in his work, including his signature 18-karat Gold Blossom accent found on some of his handmade jewelry.
